TO HELP ITS teachers build self-esteem and confidence, the Makati Science High School initiated the School Orientation on the Teacher Induction Program (TIP) Implementation for new and experienced teachers at the Makati Science Audio-Visual Room, Oct. 27-31.

Participated in by 2 department heads, 6 subject coordinators, 19 experienced teachers, and 23 neophyte teachers, the TIP aims to train and to empower teachers to imbibe within themselves the genuine sense of dedication and commitment to their profession.

“The Department of Education conceptualized the Teacher Induction Program to help new teachers hurdle the first days of school, which can make or remake them, and to support them during their first year of teaching, which is usually the time of considerable stress and burn-out,” said Dr Divinelinda Estrañero-Dela Cruz, Makati Science principal, in her opening remarks.

Spearheaded by Dr Dela Cruz, the TIP included modules on Curriculum Instruction by Miss Adoracion San Pascual, Filipino Department officer in charge; Code of Ethics of Professional Teachers and Professionalism and Personal Welfare by Dr Dela Cruz herself; Educational Laws, Surveys, Projects, and Programs by Dr Danilo Mata Romero, Science and Technology Department Head Teacher III; and Philippine Basic Curriculum by Mrs Anita Villafuerte Javier, Social Studies Head Teacher III; and Special Education and Alternative Learning System Grading Performance by Mr Job Alzaga Ferrer, Technology and Livelihood Education coordinator.

Miss Elena del Rosario Ruiz, Division of City Schools of Makati superintendent, graced the ocassion.
