Seniors rule Intrams

AFTER ALL THE spikes, cheers, hustles, and hard work, the emergence of a new champion is here.
It was a long race to the top for the four batches: sweat dripped, tears were shed, and cheers w
ere yelled, but only one rose victorious.
Proving to be the best, the Senior Blue Jaguars man-handled the feud among the four batches and snatched the championship trophy despite minor setbacks due to bad weather conditions during the 2007 Makati Science High School Intramurals at the school grounds, Sept. 25-Oct. 8.
The Jaguars assumed supremacy by garnering 298 points—Filipino Games, 82; volleyball, 45; badminton, 36; cheerdance, 30; basketball, 30; table tennis, 25; chess, 24; Mister and Miss Intramurals, 14; and game of the generals, 12—losing to the Junior Orange Warriors in volleyball, 45-60; and table tennis, 25-40—headed by Jan Erika Sinchioco Basilio, Makati Science Senior Assembly president.
Trailing behind, the Warriors bagged second place despite resistance from the Sophomore Yellow Dragons in cheering, 15-25; earning a total of 278 points—Filipino Games, 71; volleyball, 60; table tennis, 40; badminton, 30; basketball, 25; chess, 18; cheerdance, 15; game of the generals, 11; and Mister and Miss Intramurals, 8.
The Dragons came in far behind the Warriors with 222 points—Filipino Games, 53; volleyball, 40; cheerdance, 25; badminton, 24; table tennis, 22; chess, 20; basketball, 20; game of the generals, 9; and Mister and Miss intramurals, 9—bowing to the Freshmen Green Wizards in Filipino Games, 53-61; and table tennis, 22-28.
Consequently, the Wizards copped fourth place after accumulating 209 points—Filipino Games, 61; volleyball, 35; table tennis, 28; badminton, 24; cheerdance, 20; basketball, 15; chess, 14; Mister and Miss Intramurals, 7; and game of the generals, 6.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars Cheer Dance Team reigned supreme in the Makati Science High School Cheer Dance Competition at the school grounds, Sept. 27.
Led by flyer Karla Asuncion Banayat, the Jaguars garnered a score of 90 percent trailed by the Dragons Cheer Dance Team, 83, the Wizards Cheer Dance Team, landing on the third spot, 79, and the Warriors Cheer Dance Team, 77. |
